Acai berry no doubt contains a lot of nutrition which is not found in any other fruit, but at the same time it gives ample opportunities to those who want to make some extra buck quickly out of the sudden popularity of this wonder fruit.
Acai berry scams are mainly of two types. Some of the Acai berry products come with free trial offers and so called business opportunity. These kinds of Acai berry scam offers you some bottles of Acai berry free or cost or at a nominal cost but you are supposed to sell the bottles to others. You then send back the money to the manufacturer and you make a fat commission out of the sale. As this kind of opportunity does not require any investment, many people fall prey to this MLM scheme. Usually the quality of Acai berry supplied for sale is inferior.
Another Acai berry scam involves free trial offers for very few days usually a week or 15 days. What happens with this kind of scam is that you are asked to pay for shipping and handling charges and in this process your credit card details are taken. These offers take advantage of people’s tendency to click the submit button without going through the terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of these offers clearly say that if you do not cancel the subscription within the trial period which is 7-15 days, you authorize them to charge your credit card for next month’s supply.
The moment you make the payment, your trial period starts and by the time you receive you free bottle it is over. As per the T&C they charge your credit card for next month’s supply and it continues month after month. By the time you are able to cancel the subscription you are left poorer by a few hundred dollars.
So, before ordering the trial offers, just go through the T&C of it and never forget to cancel the subscription if you do not like it.
